PharmaCCX is pleased to announce that Professor Carole Longson has agreed to join us as Special Counsel for Governance where she will advise and help to further formalize stakeholder involvement and governance of the PharmaCCX platform.
Carole Longson has joined PharmaCCX, a price negotiation and tracking platform for payers and pharma, as Special Counsel for Governance.
Prior to joining PharmaCCX, Carole was Executive Director at NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) for 18 years and Chief Scientific Officer at ABPI (The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry) for 2 years after starting her career as a researcher at GSK.
"Stakeholder Governance is central to our role as a trusted independent facilitator of complex drug pricing deals. Carole brings a unique experience that will help us further formalize stakeholder involvement and governance of the PharmaCCX platform," said Nathan Sigworth, CEO of PharmaCCX.
“We have an emerging and accelerating problem in health care systems in Europe when pricing new therapies, especially combination therapies, that needs to be addressed" said Carole Longson. “And the urgency of this issue means that a step change is needed in the way that companies and payers negotiate pricing and managed access deals. Their technology combined with the participation of an increasing number of stakeholders across Europe means that CCX is well positioned to help catalyze this change and I look forward to playing a role in that process”
